The Safe way to close a Popup Window

Even with those of you who have a good popup blocker and/or your PC is free of any major spyware/adware/malware, you may occasionally get a nasty popup from a website you visit.

You know (since you're a good Tech Solutions Radio listener) that clicking anywhere in the main popup Window is a very bad idea!  The bad news is that sometimes clicking anywhere in the window (including the X in the upper right hand corner) can also lead to catching a nasty malware infection.  Here's how to safely close that window:

1 - DO NOT CLICK ANYWHERE ON THE POPUP WINDOW!

2 - Bring up the 'Windows Task Manager' by pressing these three keys at the same time: 'Ctrl' + 'Shift' + 'Esc'

3 - Click on the 'Applications' tab.

4 - From that list of  Applications, select the line that refers to the Popup Window that came up (click on it so it's highlighted).

5 - Click the 'End Task' button towards the bottom of the Window.
